I WAS SHOCKED TO RECEIVE AN IMPORT TAX DEMAND FOR $150 US EMAILED FROM THEIR DEPOT IN JOHANNESBURG.
HAVING CONTACTED THE LOCAL CUSTOMS OFFICES BY PHONE FROM LONDON, IN ORDER TO EXPLAIN THAT THE CONTENTS OF THE PARCEL HAD NO VALUE, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE DEMAND IS NOT OFFICIAL BUT PROBABLY A RUSE TO EXTRACT A BRIBE. AND EXPLAINED THAT AN OFFICIAL DEMAND WOULD BE ISSUED IN RAND, NOT US $??
AM CURRENTLY TRYING TO TRACK DOWN SOMEBODY IN THE UK CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPT TO EXPLAIN WHAT IS GOING ON. HAVE HAD PROMISES TO INVESTIGATE AND RING ME BACK BUT AFTER A WEEK HAVE STILL NOT HEARD A THING. I DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. AVOID
